Some general FAQs for you. Please contact us directly for any more specific queries, we’ll be happy to spend the time with you.

What does the application process involve?

We try and keep the whole process as quick and easy as possible. However, the watches are very expensive so we have to ensure that we’re entrusting the right people. We’re also eager to ensure that all Chronohaus members, are like-minded and have good homogeny – so that a true community is built.

The whole process should only take a few days to complete.

There is a quick application form, and alongside this we require:

  • Facebook sign-in and email verification
  • Copy of ID (passport), recent proof of address and verification of employment
  • We will also have a phone call with you, or possibly a personal meeting. We are eager to get to know your interests and how we can best tailor our watch collections and services to your needs.

This aim to make this a very personalised and attentive process for our members.

Membership approvals are at the full discretion of Chronohaus.

What's required for the application to be approved?

Chronohaus are careful to ensure the care and safety of the watches. We assess our potential members on their propensity to look after the watches, return the watches in a timely manner, and to contribute positively to the community. Once people are approved of the above ID and means verification then the process is very easy.

Due to the boutique nature of the membership club, each application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

What is the geographic catchment area for Chronohaus members?

Initially we are catering solely to those that live or work within central London (ie Zone 1-3). This is so that we can offer an attentive and personalised service.

We could consider some possible exceptions – so please drop us a line fo you have queries.
Eventually, we might expand across the UK and beyond, so again, let us know if interested.

Can I choose the watches I wear?

The Legend service level offers enhanced collaboration with which watches are purchased by Chronohaus. These members are also prioritised for first rotations with new watches. We will do our best to tailor the watch selections to the specific stylistic tastes and interests of each member.

Chronohaus is still young, and we are growing our watch collection as we add members. So it can be very likely that watches are brand new when you wear them. As much as possible we will consult with our members regarding the choices of watches we hold within the collections.
We’re all about our members, and sourcing a broad and exciting range of watches that thrill.

What are the cancellation policies?

If you opt for monthly, you can cancel at any time, with a 28-day notice period. If you pay annually, then the full 12 months are to be honoured.

Chronohaus reserves full discretion at all times to cancel a membership, with immediate notice. This would be an unusual step, but if we did so, any unused membership consideration would be refunded immediately.

What happens if I lose or damage the watch?

The watches are your responsibility whilst in your care. If watches are lost, stolen or damaged, then the costs or repair or replacement must be borne by the member. The watches are obviously expensive items and must be treated with due care. We expect that members have sufficient insurance in place – see insurance section below.

Can I buy the watch if I like it?

Yes, absolutely. If you fancy any of the watches, you’re more than welcome to purchase and retain it. What better way of testing a watch than wearing it for a couple of months first!

And we can offer you a good discounted market rate for this. So, please enquire at the time and we will be happy to talk. Our mission is to feed your passion, so we’re very accommodating.

What are the specific prices?

We have three tiers of watch collections (Schmick, Luxe and Uber-Luxe) and three levels of service (Fan, Fanatic and Legend). The service levels determine the frequency of watch rotations – quarterly for Fan, bi-monthly for Fanatic and monthly for Legend; as well as extra perks and exclusivity.

Thus, there are nine membership options.

There is an annual joining fee and then a monthly membership fee for each level.

You can pay monthly or annually; we offer a 20% discount for an annual subscription.

Annual membership: £330 joining fee + £1,650 membership. Total: £1,980.  Monthly equivalent of £138pm+ joining fee.
Monthly flexi-membership: £412.50 joining fee + £171.90 pm membership fee.

Annual membership: £363 joining fee + £1,815 membership. Total: £2,178. Monthly equivalent of £151pm+ joining fee.

Can I upgrade or downgrade the memberships?

With monthly membership you have the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade at any time. With the annual membership, you can upgrade at any time.

How do I receive and return the watch?

We aim to make the Chronohaus experience a completely simple and hassle-free one. Consequently, the emphasis is on ease and enjoyment for our members.

As a result, hand-delivery and pickup is included within the Luxe and Uber-Luxe service levels. At each rotation transition, we pickup your existing watch and present you with your next watch, where we can spend time introducing you to your new watch and its functions. We arrange to meet in a location that’s convenient for you (within central London).

For the Schmick service level, we hand-deliver your initial watch, and talk you through everything. For subsequent exchanges, we use a courier service, where there is a same-day exchange.

What if I have any issues with the watch during my rotation?

We are always available to discuss your watches, or attend to any issues you might have. Also, If any watches need maintenance or recalling, then we will switch watches with you so that you’re not without a watch.

What’s the condition of watches and how are they maintained?

Chronohaus maintains its watches to a very high standard. We regularly service the watches where needed, and can polish and buff the watches as needed (thought it’s not good to over polish them).
We want you to feel that the watch is new on your wrist and certainly free of any defects.
High quality luxury watches are made with fantastic materials so most models are generally resilient to wear and tear.

However, some of the more delicate (ie with complications and alligator straps etc.) will require your consideration and care. We expect that our members look after the watches and give them the due care that such works of art deserve.

What is the insurance situation with the watches?

The watches whilst in the care of our members, is the responsibility of the member. We strongly suggest that you have your own insurance cover the timepiece. Typically, watches can be covered by standard contents insurance, and is usually the case of just notifying them.

If you don’t have suitable insurance in place already there are many specialist jewellery insurers. We recommend T.H. March (http://www.thmarch.co.uk/personal-jewellery-insurance)

As a result of demand, we are currently working on a dedicated insurance product, with Lloyd’s of London for our members. This will be an optional insurance product which you can purchase for extra security, along the same lines as extra insurances with car hire companies.

Can I refer a member, what do I get?

Yes, please do! We are developing a rewards scheme now, but in the meantime, we are offering an additional month membership added to your account, for any new member you introduce.
